Previously, media from the Philippines reported that Ramon Suzara, president of the Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF), revealed that five Asian nations, consisting of Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam and Hong Kong, had submitted an offer to International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) to host the 2025 Women's Volleyball World Championships.
Mr. Somporn said, "At the 2025 World Championships, Thailand offered himself to join the Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam (and Hong Kong), with FIVB adjusting the format. And increase the number of teams in the World Championship to 32 teams (previously 24 teams) and try to spread the hosting in the same region.
“At this time we are in the middle of discussing the details. undecided Because we have to discuss the details of all 4 countries. The budget is not much. The FIVB must sympathize and help us. If you want to be a host, you have to discuss benefits for all 4 countries to be able to host together."
According to the Philippine news program, representatives of the five nations will travel to Poland for a meeting with the FIVB. To bid again on July 21, 2023 during the Volleyball Nations League 2023 Finals.
For the World Volleyball Championship, it will be adjusted to compete every 2 years, starting in 2025 and also adding teams in the finals from 24 teams to 32 teams to increase the opportunity for small nations to compete as well.
