The AVC Cup has been held since 2008, in the year occupied by the Asian Championships. which will compete every other year Alternating with the Asian Championships, also in 2022, it is also the return of the competition for the first time in four years after the last time it was held in 2018 and was hit by Covid-19 in 2020.
Meanwhile, the AVC Cup 2022 men's team competitions in Nakhon Pathom province, Thailand and women's teams compete in Manila, Philippines. It will be the last race of this tournament before AVC redesigns the tournament. To be in line with the Volleyball Nations League (VNL) competition
AVC will begin adjusting the format of the AVC Cup, including changing the name of the tournament. And to have a competition every year (starting in 2023) to select a team to represent Asia Compete in the Volleyball Challenger Cup, an event that will qualify teams to play in the Volleyball Nations League. Must not be a team that is already playing in VNL battles.
