THAILAND NOT USE RAJAMANGALA STADIUM FOR AFF CUP 2022 - GROUP STAGE
The Thailand national team will not be able to play at Rajamangala National Stadium in the group stage of the AFF Mitsubishi Electric Cup 2022 in December due to the stadium holding a concert at the same time.
The stadium will held two world-class concerts : Justin Bieber Justice World Tourr on 6 November and the MAROON 5 World Tour 2022 on 10 December. Meanwhile, Thailand's first match at home at AFF Cup 2022 is against the Philippines on December 26.
The opportunity for the Thai national team to play at home at Rajamangala in the first match is very difficult to accept. Because the field takes time to recover the grass after the show. Therefore, it is necessary to find a backup field. According to the regulations of the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF), countries must have at least 2 playing fields.” Patit Suphaphong, Secretary General of the FA Thailand said.
